Michael Levitt invited Julie Cropp Gareleck to speak on this episode of the Breakfast Leadership Show podcast to discuss the launch of her new bestselling book, Dare to Become: From Corner Booth to Corner Office.
During this episode, Michael and Julie explore the significance of self-realization, resilience, and adaptability in the face of challenges as a successful CEO, entrepreneur, and author. Levitt and Julie discuss the importance of leveraging learning for growth. Julie connects her early career working in her parents’ restaurant as what helped her see the opportunities she had been given to engage with employees and customers. She credits her ability to communicate and work through conflict-resolution to that first job.
Levitt highlights the mindset shift, especially for entrepreneurs aiming to make a change in how they approach work. Michael shares his own experience of changing his perspective from seeing a to-do list as things he “has to do, to what he gets to do,” drawing parallels to Julie’s book.
“One of the great things about [bestseller Dare to Become: From Corner Booth to Corner Office],” Levitt notes, “is that it will give people the encouragement to move forward and get things done and leverage the tools and skills [Julie] picked up along the way.”
